It Is Really A Small World

Well we have all heard the saying this is a small world. Well I experienced it first hand today. I was talking to a friend of mine that works in radio in Brooks and he asked if I caught up with Jeff yet? I asked Jeff who? Jeff Micheals he replied. You have to understand Jeff was my radio producer in Brooks some 23 years ago. WOW he must be REALLY old now.... Sorry Jeff I say that with the most kindness in my heart. Honest :-) Any way I tuned in to his morning show and I must say he still has as much mojo as he did 23 years ago. I must admitt when I first heard about the station I kind of cast it off as ya another station for the geriatric angels. There is only so much of old Frank and Sammy that I can take before I want to shuffle back to the home and retire... I must admit that I was really suprised it is the best station in Medicine Hat by far!! I am not just saying that because Jeff is what I consider a friend. They actually play stuff that I enjoy. Hold on this even gets better then
I find out Corrine Vold ( sorry if I butchered your name dear) is doing mid day. Some might remember her from the golden oldies in country from the FM country station in Medicine Hat. By far she is one of the sweetest female voices I have heard in radio lately. She just sounds so down to earth. Then the best thing of all is the kicker for me is THEY HAVE A GREAT NEWS DEPARTMENT!!!!! I had the opportunity to chat with the news director Joe McPharlin and I really have to give them props as they really sound like a major market station in a medium market area. I know that probably does not mean much to most, but anybody in the industry that is a huge compliment. You folks have to give this station a listen you can find them at 102.1 on the FM dial or even better yet you can catch them on the internet if you are not from the area listen live at
the lounge
The site is still under some what of a transformation, but give them some time I am sure that it will be as solid as the station sounds.
If people really know me it takes a bit to get me excited about something unless it is something that my wife is wearing(or not) LMAO I just had to add that dear sorry... People tell me that usually I am more critical of a writer then a warm gushy on. Maybe it is all this Lounge music I am listening to....OH NO!!!!! My image is ruined :-)

Well I hope all my readers are safe after the storm we experienced on Tuesday evening. If that was not a tornado that rolled through I am a monkey's uncle. Then again maybe I am.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it fall. Does it still make a noise?

Until next time...

Cheers
From The Big Ape
