The Candy Ass Of The Year Award Goes To????

Well I know it is still early in the year, but after reading this story our Federal Government namely our Prime Minister wins this award even if it means giving more then one this year!!!!! I cannot believe that our PM can be this narrow minded just because he is afraid of pissing off our Bully of a cousin to the south. What am I speaking of you ask? This head line; "B.C. injection site risks offending world" This statement truly tells me that our government has lost its true common sense to help those with addiction problems.

I ask you would you rather have some junky shoot up in a safe place away from your kids or go to the nearest school yard, and leave their rigs and mess behind to possibly infect our children at play. Most people get it! Why is it the Government can't comprehend this concept. It is a proven fact that Insite actually saves lives. Just because Harper is trying to keep the peace with the up and comers he sides with George W on this one. Just because Junkies do not vote he does not care what happens to them is the bottom line. Just remember that addiction is a disease just like cancer or heart disease. I have always said that the only projects that government officials take on are ones that affect them personally. I guarantee if Mr. Harper's Son or daughter had an addiction problem there would be top priority on this matter.

I think it is time to start speaking with votes. I am not sure if people realize that when you vote you only have to vote for the people that you feel will do the proper job. One does not have to vote for all the area's of interest. We need to start supporting just the people that support our interests. Maybe then in our conservative country something would get accomplished rather then people getting in just because there was nobody to do a proper job. The European countries get it, and embrace places like this to help aid the situation. They save lives rather then turn a blind eye to the problem, and stick their heads in the sand. We have a provincial agency that deals with addiction in our province that gets upwards of 13 or so million dollars a year to help deal with addictions. Why is it that Alberta has one of the highest rates of addiction in the country then? I will answer that... people will not quit drugs or stop their destructive behavior until they are ready. Throwing money at a cause is not going to make it go away PEOPLE. I know that, you know that, why is it then that the Government does not understand this concept? Hell the head of that said agency was arrested late last year for embezzlement from his own agency. Get this, it was to fund his gambling addiction. GO FIGURE!!!!!! I think we need to start contacting our members of government on all levels and ask why? Why are you not supporting an initiative like this? Why can't we as a province or country lead by example rather then try and be a follower on topics that could make a difference. As the old saying goes; "God Hates A Coward!!!"

Like prostitution, drugs are not going to go away. Why does the government not grab a clue, and tax this stuff? Lets get a better handle on drugs. Hey look at the money they could make off this stuff through taxes!!!! People are going to do drugs, and participate in destructive behavior whether it is legal or not. So lets try and keep it safe as possible. Try and re-educate people of the harm. Rather then stick our heads in the sand, and say not in my back yard! Maybe if we ignore it long enough it will just go away! NOT!!!!!!! I do realize these places cannot be put in populated areas, but their is warehouse districts, and downtown cores. For the most part the people that do this type of activity are generally on living in suburbia anyway.

That is just my opinion and I may be wrong!!!
Until next time remember:
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.

Cheers

Very Smart Words

I received an email from my sister in-law the other day, and thought even though the information is dated it was worth passing on again. This message should be sent out every few months just to start to teach us 2 things. 1. Don't cast blame on someone that really does not deserve it.
2. Prayer in schools is not a bad thing to participate in during our times of turbulence in the world.
I think Darrel Scott could not have spoken more truer words. If you are wondering who Mr. Scott is he is the father of one of the students that was killed at Columbine High. As you may or may not know we had a similar incident just weeks after the one at Columbine in Taber, Alberta. We have since heard of various situations that were similar. I know that prayer is not the only solution to this problem, but we have to start some where. Acceptance, Bullying, and the concept of just getting along with one another can to be added to that list.

Here is Mr. Scott's words:

DARRELL SCOTT - TESTIMONY

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colorado, was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.

They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilder ness. The following is a portion of the transcript:

"Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers .

"The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.

"In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.

I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best. This was written way before I knew I would be speaking here today:

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,
Your words are empty air.
You've stripped away our heritage,
& nbsp; You've outlawed simple prayer.
Now gunshots fill our classrooms,
And precious children die.
You seek for answers everywhere,
And ask the question "Why?"
You regulate restrictive laws,
&n bsp; Through legislative creed.
And yet you fail to understand,
That God is what we need!

"Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational
systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.

"As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America, and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to comm unicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge. Dare to examine your
own heart before casting the first stone!

My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not allow that to happen!"

Words like that can not be ignored or forgotten!

Until next time...
In Lebanon , men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death.
(Like that makes sense!!!)

Has Society Finally Gone Mad?

I think that Society has finally seen it's breaking point. Who in society feels that it is ok to drive a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol? That is like letting your 3 year old child run with a knife or scissors in their hands. By climbing behind the wheel while under the influence you to are doing just that. It is like playing with a loaded gun or running with a pair of scissors in your hand. In the last 72 hours they have had 11 impaired charges and 2, 24 twenty four suspensions. Why is that you ask? Is it just our community that has no respect for their fellow man? I asked those questions too. The answer that I got was two fold. One was our community did a survey from our residence, and it was noted that more priority needed to be placed on stopping impaired driving. We got what we asked for. Here is where I take my hat off to the many men and women that risk their lives each and every day to make society safer for us. Now one might ask If I have gone soft or sold out as in the past I have been noted as been overly hard on law enforcement. I have even been accused of picking on them. I disagree, I point out the obvious. If you screw up I am going to call you on it regardless of who you are. So that just means that the law enforcement community has been screwing up a bit more then usual. I respect the law and certain officers. With that being said though respect has to be earned not demanded. If an individual demands respect they are not someone that deserves it, and unfortunately will not get it from me. Now lets get back to the bigger question, why is it that people feel it is necessary to drive while under the influence? We have a fairly large oil patch region, and they are in what they call spring break up. The definition of Spring break up is that the oil companies do not work as much, if at all as. The land and roads are too soft to move around on because of the spring thaw. These guys work hard all winter, and feel that they need to play hard in the spring. Now I am all for letting these guys party until they blow bubbles in their spit, but get the picture people that does not give you a blanket license to climb into a 1/2 of ton of metal and plastic and drive it at speeds that are not controllable. WAKE UP PEOPLE with the education on drinking and driving that the Government and other special interest groups do, there should not be one impaired driver EVER!!! Now I can hear the bleeding heart Liberals now! Loosen up people make mistakes! Yes I will even buy into that idea, but impaired driving is not a mistake. You made a conscious decision to drive. I heard a good one here a while back. It is the cab companies fault. I awaited with intrepidation to hear the rational of this one. The person went on to say if you have to wait 45 - 60 minutes for a cab people are going to take the chance and drive. My answer to that is have you ever thought about calling a friend or walking or just waiting that time frame. I am not sure that people realize that impaired operation of a motor vehicle will net you a criminal record. Now all of a sudden your job may be jeopardized, your future is going to be different in so many ways. People have to start making drinking and driving socially unacceptable like maybe assaulting women. Our Justice system needs to have more of bite to it when these people come before them. Lastly people need to be treated like murders when they hurt or kill someone while under the influence. So a raise of 28% in the last few months of impaired drivers is unacceptable, but I hope that eventually the message will get out that peoples lives are more important then a few dollars poured down your gullet on a night out . Next time you see a cop in Medicine Hat thank him or her for making our streets a little safer to travel. Maybe more people need to push to have the heat turned up in their communities, and driving under the influence would become a thing of the past!

That is just my opinion, and I maybe wrong!

"Quote of the Year"
You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the two most powerful men in America are named Bush and Dick.

Living Life Backwards

I just had to post this, as it is way to funny. Thanks Bill you are a funny man!!!!!

Until next time remember:
We have to get old, or we'd never slow down.

Cheers
From The 400LB Gorilla

I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in an old age home feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy.
Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day.
You work 40 years until you're too young to work.
You get ready for High School: drink alcohol, party, and you're generally promiscuous.
Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then...
You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury, in spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap, and then...
You finish off as an orgasm.
I rest my case.
